Addie's First Potty- What a big girl!

Today was an exciting milestone for us! I was getting Addie ready for her nap and asked her if she wanted to go potty in her potty chair. She said YES, this isn't really new though. She enjoys sitting on the chair and brushing her teeth (with her diaper on), BUT today she wanted her pants and diaper off. Before I knew it she filled her potty chair and was very excited!! What a big girl!

Well I'm not much of a swimmer, but I think Addie has it figured out!
But it's been extremely hard to get anything on camera later, as soon as she knows I have it on she HAS to have it!

Fall is here!

I LOVE fall! It's my most favorite time of the year for so many reasons!

• The fresh scent outside just after the first rain shower
• Farmer markets (yes summer is great, but who doesn't love to be wearing a sweatshirt and drinking a coffee while picking out fresh produce)
• Did I already mention wearing a cozy sweatshirt while outside for a walk? Just perfect weather, not cold enough for a jacket, nice and "wrisk" (as Ming-Ming would say)
• Pumpkins and pumpkins! Love going to the pumpkin patch and am so excited to take Addie for her second year!
• Halloween, it's so fun to see all the little kids dressed up (video coming soon of Addie saying trick or treat)
• Baking, I love pumpkin bread!
• Fall colors, who doesn't love all oranges, red and golds and watching all the leaves fall? Can't wait for Addie to play in the leaves. She was only sitting up last year.
• Football, chili and staying home. Finally an excuse to be lazy and hang out (not that I need one)
• Getting dark earlier, ok so I am weird, but our house feels so cozy when it's dark outside and a yummy candle is lit making the house smell tasty
• Thanksgiving!!!!!!!! Over the last several years Thanksgiving has become my absolute favorite holiday! It's such a great way to spend time with loved ones and just feel thankful for them and everything in your own life. No Christmas shopping, agonizing over what to buy that someone special and trying to fit in all the Christmas stuff. Thanksgiving is a time to slow down and just be truly grateful for everything. LOVE it!

Addie and I decorated the house today with all the fall decor. The mantel says Happy Halloween and our fall wreath is on the door. She enjoyed passing all the little pumpkins to me and playing with the giant fake pumpkins we have (and no they don't bounce, but not for a lack of trying).

REWARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Please help! Sometime this weekend Jack, Gus, 2 lovely girl mice and a basket of yarn went missing. "Rella" and the sisters just aren't the same and we are all very worried. After Addie awoke this evening calling out for the mice, we formed a search party! Daddy was in charge of the car, all bags, kitchen and bathroom; Mommy took over the basement, laundry room, and yes even the garbage. Addie searched her toys but was just too upset, so to help her cope she climbed/jumped on all the couch cushions and tested the cheerio treasures found beneath the cushions (she didn't approve). We told her we would continue tomorrow morning as soon as the sun came up.

A few random pictures of Addie hanging out and in one of my favorite outfits (opps she only wore it once!). Addie loved having Carol (a friend) watch her on Sunday afternoon and is still asking for her. Other than that it's been the same old stuff for us. Going to parks and "play, play, play" as Addie says it.

Fun in the Pool

Today was a lazy Friday. Addie and I went shopping for new shoes. She picked out a cute pair of tennis shoes and mary janes (okay I picked them out), but she did pick out a raincoat and rain boots. She had to wear them out of the store too.

After her nap we took her swimming. Here is a video clip of her and Kelly on the water slide. She didn't ask to go again. Later while she was walking around in the shallow end a little boy came up to her, which Addie loved, until he picked her up and dunked her in the water. I quickly scooped her up. And no, the dad didn't say sorry or make his son apologize. But Addie was a trooper, I think she was too shocked to cry. She still loved the pool and had a great time.

Trip to the Zoo

Addie and I met our playgroup at the Zoo this morning. We finally got to see the baby elephant and boy was he a cutie! Here is a short video of the baby. Of course Addie was disappointed she didn't get to hold the baby. I

Addie is saying so many more words now! She is a great copycat and is adding a few words everyday. The most exciting is her name!

Enchanted Forest boats

Okay this is a little old (July 23, 2008), but most of my videos are way over the size limit! Addie rode on the boats at enchanted forest while Maya rode on the small ferris wheel right behind us. Believe it or not she didn't want to get out of the boat! She looked miserable but actually had a great time!

A walk around the block

Here are a few cute pictures from our walk today. Addie is very independant and prefers to walk instead of riding in the stroller! She made it all the way around the block, although she came home with a few new scratches. She wore her headband the whole time (I think she forgot it was on!). She has her own favorite outfits now and when she's done getting dressed she'll ask to look in the mirror and say "ohhhhhhh" at herself.

First Post

Hello!

This is my first official post on the blog! Yes, I know I am crazy and very behind in technology. No text messaging, no myspace page, no facebook page, let just say it's amazing I use email!

But I wanted to start this blog (you can see it was created almost 1 year ago!) to post videos of Addie! So I hope it's fun for everyone!

So, Mom this is for you (videos coming shortly)!
