Letter to Santa

This is the best letter to Santa from a mommy I've ever read! It's from the book In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms, enjoy!

Dear Santa:

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctors office more than my doctor and sold 62 cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread the Christmas list over several years, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows if I'll find any more free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my wishes: I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the 7th month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big-ticket items this year, I'd like fingerprint-resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes, Mommy", to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three jean skirts that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your sister", because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could use a few miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would also be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling my name, and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back.

Your always, Mom.

PS: One more thing... you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to always believe in Santa.

Another sleepy baby pic

This pic is of Addie, they really do look alike I think

Random update

Today was a busy day! We went to storytime at the mall and then tumbling class(check out how sleepy Matilda is now). We even saw Santa, what is he doing at the mall so early? Addie sat on his lap and told him what she wanted for Christmas, but we didn't get the official picture yet since Daddy wants to go too and the girls weren't dressed for it. One fun Christmas tradition we are starting this year is the "Elf on the Shelf", I read the book to Addie and explained how it works, her response: "No Mom this is just a decoration". She's too smart! Thanks Grandma Judie for the cute item! So excited to start using it. Seems like everyone has started or finished their Christmas shopping, so I'm feeling a little behind, but WAY EXCITED this year for Christmas.

Katiebear I owe you a weigh in and update :)

Tomorrow is Matilda's 2 month check up!

Another day

I had a few moments to write a post, right now Matilda is in the swing, big sister Addie, is singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow all dressed up as Dorothy and dinner is in the oven. Pretty great Monday!

A few updates, Matilda is still as sweet as ever, but today she wasn't happy sitting in her chair (see pic). She's loving her baths more and more and is starting to "play" with toys. We have a small bumblebee mirror that apparently is the best thing ever to her!

Getting so big!

Our little Miss Matilda is getting so big, she'll be 8 WEEKS this Friday!! Where has the last 2 months gone? She is more and more smiley everyday and in love with her big sister! She gives big sister Adelaide (we were informed from Addie to call her Adelaide now) smiles and will try to talk with her.

Happy Monday!

I'm so lucky I get to wake up to these 2 everyday (even if it's 5am) and be their Mommy! Have a great day!

Disney on Ice and Halloween

It was a busy last weekend. Addie and I had a date to see Disney on Ice, it was fabulous and we had a great time! She wore her Cinderella dress and was mesmerized by all the characters and the kids there.

Then there was Halloween, Addie was Vidia from Tinkerbell. Thanks Grandma for making such a cute costume!! She loved every moment trick-or-treating and also handing out the candy at home. Matilda was a sleeping fairy. The sleeping pic is of Matilda missing all the pumpkin carving fun!
